Business Workspaces is excited to sit down with Jim Beckstein of Dassault Falcon Jet as we launch our new Faces of El Dorado Hills feature.
Jim is a graduate of CU Boulder as an Aerospace Engineer and an amateur pilot. He has always enjoyed airplanes, so he started working for the airlines at the age of 20. He worked at the ticket counter, loading bags and working the passenger gates. He transitioned to Cessna aircraft as an Engineer as his first foray into private aviation. Jim said, “I realized I wasn’t that good of an engineer and a lousy pilot, so sales seemed like the right move!”
Jim is very passionate about his business and private aviation. He says, “If you think business jets are just for the rich, famous, and Fortune 500 companies – ask car dealers, farmers, construction companies, real estate development companies, local banks, manufacturers and the list goes on. Companies that utilize business aviation consistently outperform those who don’t due to improved time management, efficiency and productivity. Sure, rich and famous have them too – but that isn’t the foundation of our business. Business aircraft are tools to improve company productivity.”
Business aviation contributes about $150 billion to the US economic output and employs more than 1.2 million people. Each year manufacturers deliver between 500 – 750 business jets – worldwide.
Jim says there are many changes coming in aviation and is excited about those changes. “Supersonic flight again, Vertical Take Off and Landing – VTOL, Electric VTOL – EVTOL, the Jetsons are coming! Not within 5 years but certainly within 15. I do see supersonic flight happening within the next 5.”
Jim is new to California, having moved here in July 2017. Jim is married with 3 kids, Madeline who is 16, Hudson, 9 and Lauryn is 7. Originally from Buffalo, NY but grew up in Colorado after the age of 13. He is well traveled, having lived in 8 different states. Other than spending time with his family; he has a passion for mountain biking, hiking and running; anything that keeps him outside. He also enjoys sushi, fine wine and family trips to the beach.
When asked why he chose Business Workspaces; he said, “Business Workspaces is close to my home, convenient location and offers services important to my business particularly the answering service.”
