In our latest edition of Faces of Business Workspaces, we met with Brian Mathews, the owner of Aqua Perfection. Mathews started the pool service company in 2018 and it has grown from 23 pools to around 300 pools. Aqua Perfection services pools from Woodland, Fairfield, and Stockton, up to Camino, Roseville, and Sacramento, both commercial and residential.
What motivates you?
My kids are a huge motivation for me. I have six kids at home. Three are my biological, and three other kids that I brought in and adopted. I spend a lot of time with my kids, and they are what motivates me. They see me go to work every day and everything I do here is for them.
What advice would you give to someone who is trying to start their own business?
I think bringing professionalism into your industry is huge. Customer service seems to be going away in a lot of industries, and bringing those two things together, I think will make any business owner successful.
What’s your favorite vacation destination?
My favorite vacation destination spot isn’t just one spot. I love to sail, and I sailed from Florida through the Panama Canal and up to Mexico. So anywhere I’m on a sailboat is a great vacation spot for me. I love to travel and see new places. So, I don’t have any one favorite spot, but anywhere where I can drive my kids along and be on the water, I’m happy.
Why did you choose Business Workspaces?
I chose Business Workspaces because of the professional environment that’s here, and the amenities that are here for not only, me as a member, but also any clients that I would bring here to meet. It’s a quiet working environment. As I grew my business to where I was at a point where I could work from home, but I was distracted at home, and here I can really get a lot more work done than I could ever, ever do at home. And as my business grows and I have to meet clients, there are conference rooms where I can meet with them, and it’s very professional.
