To get to know our new animal-loving General Manager Brenda Edwards, continue reading about her unique story below.
Introduce yourself?
My name is Brenda Edwards your new General Manager for Business Workspaces. I come from the corporate housing and property management industries. I am a mother of two wonderful teenage daughters, we live locally residing in Folsom, but they attend Oak Ridge High School here in El Dorado Hills. I am a local of Folsom, CA and grew up since the age of 10 in the area and have seen a lot of change.
How did you get started in your career?
I graduated from California State University Long Beach with a bachelor’s in business administration/marketing. I have worked in many industries prior to working here at Business Workspaces.
What is something about you that most people do not know?
I was born in Ankara, Turkey. My father was a pilot in the USAF, and we were stationed in Turkey when I was born.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years, I hope to be a homeowner and mastered the GM position here at Business Workspaces.
Other than work, what are you passionate about?
I am a huge animal lover and I tend to get easily distracted by the cute furry creatures. I have two dogs, Goose my Australian Sheppard and Chi Chi my Chihuahua, a cat Suri, and a guinea pig Carmello. I have volunteered at dog rescues and most recently Foothill Dog Rescue.
What types of activities or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy gardening and love planting flowers and have several rose bushes that I can cut from and enjoy indoors. I like nature and hikes and taking my dogs to the dog park.
Why did you choose Business Workspaces and how has working here helped you?
I choose a career with Business Workspaces because I enjoy working with people, believe in a high level of customer service, and have the education and work experience that lends itself perfectly to this position.
Do you have a daily habit that helps you be more successful?
I am working on daily meditation through Headspace App that has helped with keeping me more mindful and centered with my life.
