Christine Huffman works for CPM Educational Program, a company that started up almost 20 years ago. The company writes math textbooks for students from sixth grade through high school. CPM is made up of very devoted teachers whose goal is to make math instruction easier for children to learn. Continue reading to learn more:
Tell us about your business and what you do.
I have two roles within the company, I assist the executive director and act as her right hand. My other role in the company is recruiting and onboarding. I interview eligible candidates, send out offer letters, and then assist them with onboarding. I’ve been with CPM Educational Program for about seven years now and it has been a wonderful experience thus far. I also love having a hybrid work schedule, I can work from home, but I also come to Business Workspaces and work remotely, which I love. Coming to the coworking center, gets me out of the house and it’s such a great place to work.
What motivates you at work?
I am pretty much a self-motivated person. I love what I do, and I know what I need to do each day to reach my goals. I have a clear order of things from start to finish which makes it easy to know what my day looks like.
What motivates you outside of work each day?
I am motivated to find happiness in all that I do. My partner and I recently moved into a new home which has kept me busy. With two dogs it can get messy at times, but I still find joy in organizing the house by turning on a podcast.
And what is your favorite vacation destination?
I would say anywhere near an ocean. I fell in love with the west coast, granted the East coast is beautiful, but the west coast ocean is completely different. The views going down the coast are amazing! So anywhere where there’s a body of water, I’m very happy.
How has working at Business Workspaces helped you and your business?
I chose to work at Business Workspace mainly because I wanted a place where I could work to get out of the house a couple of days a week. I really like the setup of Business Workspaces and the flexibility of coworking because I didn’t necessarily want to be in my own office. I am self-motivated, but it’s nice to hear the buzz of individuals and know there are other professionals around you. There’s always coffee and a full kitchen to use when a break is needed. Everybody’s super friendly, and I love coming here each day.
