At Business Workspaces, we love to be able to get to know not only our members, but our employees as well! We enjoy being able to learn more about what everyone does not just on a professional level, but on a personal one as well. Earlier this year, we welcomed Sharia Brooks to the El Dorado Hills community as our new Community Manager. We hope you enjoy getting to learn more about Sharia as much as we have!
What advice would you give to your younger self?
For starters, get to know yourself and stay true to her! Self-respect is everything! Life is too short to not live the life you deserve so DO NOT SETTLE for a second, go with your intuition, it will guide you and never stop learning, knowledge is POWER.
What do you value most in a friendship?
Loyalty and generally being a good human being.
What is something about you that most people do not know?
I am an introvert at heart and can be extremely shy.
What advice do you have for others interested in your hobbies?
Be authentically yourself and embrace your flaws – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
What makes you feel energized about your hobbies?
Knowing that I am doing them for Me!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Happier than the previous 5 years!
Other than work, what are you passionate about?
Growing in all aspects of life and becoming a better version of myself daily.
What types of activities or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
Decorating homes, creating content, working out, and spending quality time with family/loved ones.
Why did you choose Business Workspaces and how has working here helped you?
This role at Business Workspaces was the perfect fit for me! With my previous work experience, it fit a role that I was experienced in and also helped bring out my creativity which I love.
Do you have a daily habit that helps you be more successful?
Working out at 4 in the morning! It keeps my mind clear and knowing I took care of myself first thing in the morning really makes me put my all into everything else I do because I have more to give. Success just follows.
Do you have a book that you often recommend or gift to people? Why?
I would recommend Stay Hard by David Goggins, simply because it helps you realize the obstacles, we face on a daily basis are just obstacles. He demonstrates in his book how important it is to be mentally strong. Your mind is a powerful thing and really understanding how to use it for the greater good you will become unstoppable, and I love that.
